The modern incarnation of Team Tyrrell, the World Champion Formula One Constructor, has launched the online resource for Team Tyrrell history, news and merhcandise: www.TeamTyrrell.com.Designed to be "THE resource for everything Tyrrell," the site includes historical photographs, articles and editorial as well as current Team Tyrrell news, downloads, and merchandise. The modern Team Tyrrell is composed of the Tyrrell family, John Delane, John Dimmer, their Tyrrells and their support teams. Three years ago, John Dimmer bought Tyrrell 004 as a basket case, and in discussions with friend John Delane, they set out to recreate the 1971 Elf Team Tyrrell race team, which won the World Constructor's Championship in 1971 and the World Driver's Championship in 1971 and 1973.Since those early days, Delane has acquired the original Team Tyrrell Transporter from that period, and John Delane, John Dimmer, Ryan Delane and Megan Collins have formed Retro Racegear, to sell Tyrrell Merchandise on-line and at the track.Ryan Delane, Team Tyrrell back-up driver and Retro Racegear founder, was thrilled to have the web site up in time for the Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races Presented by Chrysler. "Now we'll be able to get the word about this web site, and at no better a place than the Historics, where Ford, who had such a long and successful partnership with Tyrrell, is celebrating their 100 years of Motorsports Heritage." The "Monterey Historics", as the participants call the races at Laguna Seca, will feature Tyrrell 001, 002, 004, 005, 007, two 009s, 011, and the Tyrrell Transporter, for the largest culmination of historic Tyrrell racecars in history.The site features "desktop background" downloads of the cars in their modern roles, and will soon have in-car movies of the Team Tyrrell drivers driving the cars at various Historic Races around the world. It also includes the statistics of the cars and drivers of 1971, short biographies featuring photographs from Schlegelmilch Photography and Sutton Images, and lists of team members both in 1971 and in the current Team Tyrrell.The Team Tyrrell Shoppe sells Tyrrell merchandise on-line, including recreation t-shirts, polos, hats, stickers, crew shirts, and other Team Tyrrell memorabilia.
